Vintage Sizes & Measuring Information:

If you are new to vintage fashions, you may not be aware that vintage sizes are not the same as modern sizes. A modern size 12 is much larger than a vintage size 12, and, sizing can vary widely from brand to brand. That is why checking the measurements in the item description is very important. A quick tip for checking measurements is to compare a garment of yours, that fits you well, against the measurements in the item description. Lay your garment on a flat surface, smooth it out and take a fabric tape measure and measure the following areas.

Reproduction Clothing Sizes & Measuring Information:

Unlike Vintage Clothing, garments that are made from a Vintage Pattern do allow for ease of fit. For example, if a Vintage size 16 Pattern states it will fit Standard Body Measurements of 34 Bust, 26 Waist and 36 Hips, the actual garment will be several inches larger to allow for proper fit.

I will always list the measutrments from the pattern for each garment. If you would like to have additional measurments of the garment, just e-mail, I'll be happy to provide them.

Always remember to take those measurements and double them. For example If the bust measures 18" across with your tape measure, double that and you get 36" for your correct bust measurement. Write down your measurements and compare them to those in the item description. Remember to please allow a few inches in your measurements for ease of fit.

Shoes are measured with a fabric tape measure on the inside of the shoe from the heel to the toe. The width of shoes is measured on the outside sole at the widest point. The best thing to do is to measure a pair of your shoes and compare that measurement to the one in the item description. Please email us if you have any questions on measurements.

Vintage Condition Rating Information:

Even New Old Stock Vintage Clothing is not new. In many cases, it may be 50 or more years old, and have been stored in any number of conditions. Most vintage clothing has been previously worn, and will show signs of normal wear, and will not be perfect. Please do not expect to receive a perfect, unworn garment. We try very hard to list any and all flaws in the description, but should you have any questions, please e-mail us. We will be pleased to provide you with additional information or clarification.
