Late 1800's Velvet and Wool Bodice Coat

For Study or Restoration

Item # EVW-1646

Price: $45.00

This delightful example of an early cotton velvet and wool bodice is in need of a loving restoration.

Overall, the outer garment is in excellent condition, with no holes or weakness. The velvet is soft and luscious. It is embellished with soutache and braid trims.

There is some points of age spotting on the cream colored under layer, which, when worn would not show.

The silk lining, which remains intact, has shattered and is in need of a total replacement. The remaining silk should provide for making a pattern with which to do so.

Condition

This Bodice is in Fair Vintage Condition. It is in need of restoration/replacement of the lining and buttons. Once the lining has been replaced, it would be sturdy enough for wear. In it's present condition it is suitable for display, pattern or study.
